The system developed is based on an extended trailer equipped with a diesel generator, a water cistern and an engine room. The water cannon, which can be operated with both fresh and salt water, is located on the trailer. Thanks to an integrated pumping system, the system is able to draw water directly from rivers, lakes or the sea, which considerably expands its range of applications.
Ensuring that the system remains functional at extreme temperatures was a particular challenge. Numerous measures were taken to ensure that it can also work reliably in winter: – The water cistern is equipped with a heating system. The machine room and the nozzle ring of the water cannon are heated. These features ensure that the system remains operational and works effectively even at freezing temperatures.
The system’s diesel generator has its own diesel tank, which means that the water cannon can be operated autonomously and uncoupled from the tractor unit. The system switches off automatically as soon as the water supply is depleted, which enables safe and efficient operation without the need for constant monitoring.
During development, the focus was on the effective control of coal dust. In summer, the water cannon binds dust particles and cleans the air. In winter, the system ensures that snow and ice crusts form on the coal piles, effectively preventing dust from being released.
The jointly developed water cannon system offers an innovative and versatile solution for dust suppression under challenging conditions. Its autonomy, versatility and ability to work in all weather conditions make it an ideal choice for companies that require reliable dust suppression technology.
